The Electronic Embassy provides information on each of the embassies in Washington D.C., with links to Web-based resources where available.

We also provide stories of some of Washington's historic diplomatic buildings.

The Electronic Embassy Web site turned fourteen years old on May 1, 2009. When the site was launched, only two of Washington's foreign embassies were on the Web.
Now, most of the embassies have homes on the Internet to complement their addresses on Embassy Row.

The embassy.org site's Business Directories allows companies serving the international community, and those working, living, and traveling internationally, to find their audience.

Washington D.C.-area real estate listings.

We also offer mailing lists for use in reaching the Washington D.C. foreign embassy and consular communities.

the school re-opened after a freak explosion on one of the lower levels. I think theres something going on but, i am not sure. We also have dorms if you would like to stay on campus. I do its fun but, no one else wants to so we have plenty of space as well

Immigration Information


Students who are admitted to the United States for study in approved universities and colleges must follow certain rules and regulations in order to maintain legal immigration status. International Programs at NMU can answer your questions about student status in the U.S. and clarify United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations.

United States Immigration law is subject to frequent change; information should always be verified by your international student adviser. Your friends and family members are just that: they should not be considered a reliable source of information regarding your particular student status.

Most Northern Michigan University international students enter the United States with in F-1 or J-1 student status. Visa status of accompanying dependents is linked to the type of visa the student carries. All international students must pursue a full-time course of study while in the United States.

Fill Out A Visa Application


Your Visa application can be picked up at a British Embassy near you, which can be found in most major cities. At the embassy, they'll provide you with the IM2A forms, and you'll have to pay the application fee and bring in some required documents to fully apply.
Before we go through what you'll need, there are some rules that you'll have to abide to while studying abroad.

Student Immigration Rules
1. You must intent to study at a public funded university, college, bonafide private institution, or a fee-paying independent school.

Why? While you're in the UK, they want to make sure you're actually studying there. As well, it helps them understand whereabouts international students are interested in studying.

2. You must be able to and intend to follow a full time degree course, or a weekday, full time course at a single institution involving at least 15 hours of organized, daytime study per week.

Why? Since you'll officially be a student in the UK, it is proper that you attend your classes as well as intend to partake in the organized classes and studies being assigned to you.

3. You must be able to pay for your course and the living expenses of your husband or wife and children (if they are with you) without working in UK or claiming public funds.
